General Jewellery Care
All of our jewelry is stylish, charming and good-priced. Our jewelry ranges from trendy chic, retro glam to classic elegant look with most of them made of non-precious metals and often set with synthetic stones, glass or beads, etc. With the fashion and vintage* metal pieces are usually made of brass and steel, sometimes gold, silver or rhodium plated; our current line of fine jewelry are made of sterling silver. To keep your jewelry looking its best, here are some general jewelry care tips when Wearing, Cleaning and Storing it!
When Wearing It:
Chemicals such as hair spray, perfume, cosmetic as well as cleaning agents and chlorinated water can cause damage on your jewelry. Always apply makeup, lotion, hairspray and perfume before putting on your jewelry. Remove jewelry before playing sports, doing household tasks or getting into a pool/hot tub.
When Cleaning It:
Use a soft 100% cotton cloth to wipe your jewelry pieces clean after each wearing to remove sweat, natural body oils or residue and to prevent any moisture on surface that causes rust, corrosion and tarnish. Beware that use of tissue or paper towels can cause scratches on surface. Use a soft toothbrush and a toothpick if necessary to gently loosen any dirt or dust around gems, stones or any decorative elements that might be trapped between the crevices. Use a polishing cloth to remove tarnish and to restore its natural shine.
When Storing It:
Store each item in separate bag/box to prevent minor breaks, tangling and scratching with each other. Keep them in a cool, dry place as extreme temperatures and sunlight can cause dramatic tarnish and discoloration. Anti-tarnish strips maybe placed inside storage container to absorb oxidants that discolor and tarnish jewelry.
